Aberystwyth Town is a football club in Wales. The club was founded in 1884 and played only friendly matches before and after 1896. In 1921 the Welsh National League was established and the team began to compete in the Central Section. The decade after that was a success as the team won six titles. In 1933 and 1950 they won the Mid-Wales League title, in1931 and 1933 Aber won the Welsh Amateur Cup titles.
In 1951 they joined the Welsh League (South), but then re-joined the Mid-Wales League in 1963. In 1987 the team again joined the Welsh League (South) and when the League of Wales was formed in 1992, the team was a founding member. They finished their first season in newly formed league third.
The club has a reserve team, competing in the Welsh Premier League at U19 level and the Cambrian Tyres League, and the Women’s team.
Park Avenue in Aberystwyth has a capacity of 5,000 spectators with 1,000 seats.
