Al Ahli is a UAE football club founded in 1970 in Dubai.
The club got off to a flying start claiming their first UAE Football League title already in four years after their establishment and repeating the feat in the next season. Actually, the 1970s became the golden age for Al Ahli as they welcomed a total of three UAE Football League titles and three UAE President Cups to their trophy cabinet. However, it was a slack period for the next 15 years as the club hasn’t collected a single silverware until 1996 when they won the UAE President Cup. In the 2005/06 and 2008/09 season, Al Ahli became the UAE Pro League champion once again. They also recorded their first UAE Super Cup in 2009 and won the Etisalat Emirates Cup in 2012.
The team are proud of their foreign footballers such as their Brazilian captain Grafite, Portuguese forward Ricardo Quaresma and Chilean midfielder Luis Jiménez currently playing for Al Ahli. They also give credit to renowned Italian defender Fabio Cannavaro who represented the club in the 2010/11 season.
Al Ahli has a nickname the Red Knights. They play their home matches at the 18,000-seater Rashed Stadium in Dubai.
