Al Ain FC is a UAE football club founded in 1968 in the city of Al Ain.
From the early years the team established themselves as the dominant force in UAE football. They claimed their first silverware, UAE Pro-League title, in 1977. Overall, Al Ain became the UAE champion ten times setting up a record of the most titled club in the country. The year 2003 brought them true glory as they became the first and only UAE club to win the AFC Champions League. In 2005, Al Ain climbed up to the AFC Champions League finals once again but were defeated by Saudi side Al-Ittihad 3-5 on aggregate and finished the tournament on the second place. The team also welcomed five President’s Cups, three Federation Cups, four Super Cups and one Etisalat Cup to their trophy cabinet.
For their terrific league performances and dominant position in the UAE football, Al Ain is often nicknamed the Pride of UAE or Al-Zaeem, meaning the Boss. The team play their home matches at Tahnoun Bin Mohamed Stadium with the capacity of 15,000 seats.
