Al Nasr SC is a UAE football club based in Dubai. Founded in 1945, it is the first and the oldest club in the United Arab Emirates.
Since the UAE Pro League inception in 1973, Al Nasr regularly took part in the championship. They claimed their first title in 1978 and repeated the feat in a consecutive 1978/79 season. The 1980s saw the most fruitful period for the club. In 1985, Al Nasr won their first UAE Emir Cup and in 1986 they collected the double – the UAE League title and the UAE Emir Cup. The year 1988 brought the UAE Union Cup to the team’s trophy cabinet.
The 1990s was a slack period for Al Nasr. However, in the 1993/94 season, they took part in the Asian Cup Winners Cup though eliminated after the first round. Only in 2000, the team won the UAE Union Cup – their first honor in the last 11 years. Al Nasr enjoyed a meteoric rise in 2012, as they climbed up to the group stage of the AFC Champions League.
Al Nasr play their home matches at the 12,000 seater Al-Maktoum Stadium in Dubai.
