Al Shabab FC is a prominent Saudi Arabian football club founded in 1947 in the city of Riyadh.
The team announced about themselves in 1960 when they won their first major silverware in the shape of King Saud Cup. They enjoyed a meteoric rise in the 1990s when the club cemented their place in the top flight and won three consecutive Saudi Premier League titles. Moreover, Al Shabab became twice-champions in the Arab Super Cup and Arab Champions League throughout the decade. They continued their success in the 2000s as they won another three domestic league titles, two Saudi Champions Cups, three Saudi Federation cups, Asian Cup Winners Cup and some other awards in this period. Al Shabab made six AFC Champions League appearances since 2005 till 2011 reaching the semi-finals in 2010 at the utmost.
Al Shabab are often nicknamed the White Lions. They play their home matches at King Fahd Stadium which can hold up to 67,000 spectators.
