History and achievements
Black Leopards is a football club in South Africa, located in Polokwane, Limpopo. It was set up in 1983 in Venda. Since 1998 the team is owned by the Thidiela family. In the 2001/02 season Black Leopards won promotion to the top division where they played for seven years before suffered relegation in 2007/08. Black Leopards returned to the Premier Soccer League winning National First Division Promotion in 2010/11.
The team’s home grounds are Giyani Stadium and Peter Mokaba Stadium. Giyani Stadium has a capacity of 20,000 and Peter Mokaba Stadium, constructed for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, is for 41,733 spectators.
