History and achievements
Brighton & Hove Albion F.C. is a football club that was established in 1901. The team started playing in the Football League in 1920. The only trophy of the club is FA Charity Shield. The first campaign of the team in the first division started in the season 1978/1979 where the team spent three seasons. In the early 1980s the club played fairly well in the FA Cup, even reaching the final once where they were beaten by Manchester United.
Under the helm of Peter Taylor in the early 2000s Albion finished atop of the Division Two and won promotion to the Championship.
In the mid-1990s the club faced financial problems and was forced to sell its home stadium Goldstone Ground. The current arena of the team is Falmer Stadium that has a capacity of 27,350.
The club is nicknamed the Seagulls or the Albion. The main rival is Crystal Palace. The chairman of the team is Tony Bloom.
