Club Atlético Cerro is a Uruguayan club from Montevideo founded in 1922.
Though club of moderate success, Cerro, unlike other small clubs, regularly competed in the Primera División until the relegation in 1997. The team have never won the title but impressed in 1955 and 1956 when finished third in two consecutive years and Carlos Carranza even became the league top scorer with 18 goals in the 1956 season. In 1960, they recorded their best finish climbing up to runner-up position in the Primera División table. In between 1965 and 1968, Cerro kept their consistency by finishing third in four consecutive seasons.
On the international scene, Cerro made two appearances in the Copa Libertadores in 1995 and 2010. However, the farthest they progressed to in the tournament was the second stage in 2010.
The team play their home matches at Estadio Luis Tróccoli which can hold up to 25,000 people.
