PSFC Chernomorets Burgas is a football club in Bulgaria, located in Burgas. In 1905, a sports club SC Strela was formed in Burgas, officially it was registered in 1912 and in 1919 it was renamed to SC Chernomorets. In that year a football department was introduced, FC Chernomorets.
In 1944 the city’s Municipality took charge of the team and changed its name to FC Lyuboslav. In 1958 the club was named SC Botev and in several years the name of FC Chernomorets was returned to the team.
In 1989 the team was runner-up at the Bulgarian Cup thus earning promotion to the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup. Between 1995 and 1999 Chernomorets competed in B Group. In 2004 the team faced financial problems and dropped and in 2005 was dissolved.
The club came back to life in the summer of 2005, due to the city’s mayor. It was named OFC Chernomorets 919. In the summer of 2006 the club was bought by Mitko Sabev and renamed to PSFC Chernomorets Burgas. He had already been the owner Naftex Burgas and initially a newly obtained team became a reserve of Naftex. In 2007 the team won promotion, at the end of the 2008/09 season Naftex Burgas was dissolved and Mitko Sabev bought PSFC Chernomorets Pomorie to make them reserves for PFC Chernomorets Burgas. In 2009/10 the team was fifth in the league, the following season they were eighth and the 2011/12 season Chernomorets finished fourth.
