Dalian Shide was a Chinese football club from the city of Dalian, Liaoning province. It used to be the most titled club in China. The honours obtained by Dalian Shide include 8 league titles, 2 Chinese FA Cups and 3 Chinese Super Cups.
The club was founded in 1982. Two years later the team gained promotion to the elite division. On July 3, 1992 Dalian became one of the first teams in China to turn professional. The year of 1994 saw the club deliver its first silverware with Zhang Honggen at the helm. Claiming another league triumph in 1997 the team earned a place in the Asian Club Championship and Dalian marched on splendidly. The club progressed to the final but unfortunately suffered a defeat. On January 9, 2000 the Shide Group purchased the club and renamed it to Dalian Shide.
From 1994 to 2004 Dalian Shide clinched 7 out of 10 league titles. In 2005 the team won its first Super League title under Vladimir Petrović’s guidance.
In 2012 Dalian Shide was acquired by Dalian Aerbin and merged into parental club.
The club played at Jinzhou Stadium and its home kit featured a white’n’blue shirt and black shorts.
