Dundee is a football team club was created in 1893. In the early days they did not enjoy too much success and it was not until the year 1910 that the side claimed the Scottish Cup. The 1950s gave the side true glory when Dundee clinched two League Cups and went to the final of the 1951/1952 Scottish Cup.
The next title followed in the season 1961/1962, moreover the year 1963 saw the team progressing to the semi-finals of the European Cup.
The late 1980s and 1990s were the years of decline for the side as Dundee was not one of the contenders for the title of the league and even suffered relegation to the third division. During the season 2011/2012 Dundee was playing in the first division and finished a runner-up, but consequently was invited to enter the Scottish Premier League after Rangers were declared bankrupt and lost their place in the top fight.
However, the following season they got relegated back to the First Division. In 2014 Dundee became the champions of the Championship and joined the top flight again.
The nicknames of the club are the Dark Blues or the Dee. The home arena is Dens Park that can hold up to 12,085.
