The professional Danish football club Esbjerg forenede Boldklubbe (Esbjerg fB or EfB) is located in Esbjerg. It was founded in 1924 after the merger of Esbjerg Boldklub af 1898 and Esbjerg Amatørklub af 1911.
The team’s most fruitful period was in the 1960s when they were guided by Rudi Strittich, an Austrian manager. At that successful period the team won the Danish Superliga in 1961, 1962, 1963, 1965 and in 1964 they won the Danish Cup.
In 1999/2000, Esbjerg fB faced relegation but managed to return back in the following season. Since then they had played in the top flight until 2010/11 when they suffered relegation which didn’t last for long because the next season they climbed to the Superliga.
Esbjerg fB spent their home matches at Blue Water Arena, which is a part of Esbjerg Sports Park. The stadium was built in 1955 and since then it was trice renovated. Its capacity is 18,000, with 11,451 seats.
