FSV Frankfurt is a German club founded in 1899 in Frankfurt am Main.
At their early years, the team regularly took the title in local championships. They claimed their first silverware when they won the Nordkreis-Liga in 1917. The club announced themselves at the national level finishing runners-up in the German championship in 1925 ceding the title to FC Nuremberg.
The 1930s saw a fruitful period for the team. In 1933, FSV tasted their first competitive honour winning the Southern German championship. In 1938, they climbed up to the German Cup finals but missed the chance to grab the trophy losing to Rapid Vienna.
With the formation of Bundesliga in 1963, FSV Frankfurt found themselves in the Germany’s second tier. Since the 1970s, the team bounced up and down between the Regionalliga Süd and Oberliga Hessen never winning the ticket to the top flight. Since 2008, they got a toehold at the 2. Bundesliga and struggle for their place there till the date.
FSV Frankfurt play their home matches at Frankfurter Volksbank Stadion which can hold 12,542 spectators.
