Gabala FC is an Azerbaijani football club from Gabala founded in 2005. However, the team’s history dates back to 1995 when the club was established as Goy Gol Xanlar and was based in the city of Goygol.
Gabala embarked on their way in the Azerbaijani First Division. They got off to a flying start winning the championship and broke into the Premier League where they regularly compete till the date. However, the team have never claimed the league title so far (as of 2013). The farthest they have climbed up to was the 5th position in the 2011/12 season. They’ve never welcomed the Azerbaijani Cup to their trophy cabinet as well reaching the semi-finals at the utmost.
Gabala players wear red and black kits and are often nicknamed the Radars. They play their home matches at Gabala City Stadium which can host up to 4,000 spectators.
