Green Buffaloes is a football club in Zambia, located in Lusaka. The team is one of the strongest in Zambia as they finished the 2011/12 season fifth and they are in the top five titled teams. They became the winners of the Zambian Premier League six times: in 1973, 1974, 1975, 1977, 1979 and 1981. In 2005 Green Buffaloes were then Zambian Cup winners, during their history five times the team won the Zambian Challenge Cup and the most recent title they gained was Zambian Charity Shield, which they won in 2008.
Green Buffaloes competed in African Cup of Champions Clubs where they reached the quarterfinals four times. They featured in four CAF Confederation Cup tournaments and in one CAF Cup Winners’ Cup. In 2003 they reached the quarterfinals of the CAF Cup.
Green Buffaloes play their home matches at Independence Stadium, which has a capacity of 30,000.
