History and achievements
FC Greuther Fürth is a German football club from the town of Fürth. It was founded on September 23, 1903. Home ground is Trolli Arena with capacity of 15.500 people. The team got promoted to Bundesliga 1 for 2012/2013 season for the first time in the club’s history.
Still the club is not a rookie in German football and has claimed the German championship title three times (1914, 1926, and 1929) and in also won the Intertoto Cup in 1969.
FC Greuther Fürth won its first title in 1914 under the management of English coach William Townley. The team was brought together with FC Leipzig which had three champion titles already. On May 31 in Magdeburg the team faced FC Leipzig that had collected three titles by that time. The epic game lasted 154 minutes and finally Greuther Fürth scored one goal and got the title.
