Football Club Istres Ouest Provence is located in Istres, France. It was established by Édouard Guizonnier in 1920 and was initially named SS Istréenne. The club merged with Istres Sports in 1969. The team’s owner Michel Aviet and the manager Georges Korac gradually brought Istres from the regional divisions to Ligue 2. The team made its Ligue 1 debut in 2004, but after a season at the top division Istres were relegated. Then the team dropped even further and in 2008/09 won Championnat National, advancing to Ligue 2.
Stade Parsemain is the team’s home ground. Its capacity is of 17,000.
