Chiapas Fútbol Club is a football club in Mexico. It is located in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, the state of Chiapas. The team was established on 27 June 2002 under the name of Jaguares de Chiapas and made their debut on 3 August in a 1-3 loss at Tigres de la UANL. The team’s first victory was a 1-0 win against San Luis on 25 August 2002.
In 2004, Jaguares won Chiapas Cup, in 2005 beating Club Necaxa they won that tournament again and in 2007 they became Chiapas Cup winners one more time.
The team’s best result in the league was in the Clausara 2006, under the guidance of Eduardo de la Torre. They club reached the playoffs and lost to Club Deportivo Guadalajara in the quarterfinal.
In May 2013 Jaguares merged with San Luis FC and formed a new club Chiapas FC.
The team’s home ground is Estadio Victor Manuel Reyna. The stadium was built in 1982 and had a capacity of 6,000 but was reconstructed in the year of 2002 and enlarged, so today its capacity is 31,100.
