KAMAZ is a football club from the city of Naberezhnye Chelny that was established in 1981. The team was originally called Trud-PRZ and played in the local tournaments. In the early 1990s the team won promotion to the Russian Top Flight where they even finished 6th in 1994. In 1997 the club endured financial problems and was classed down to the First Division. One year later they were relegated to the second Division.
The club’s nicknames are the Trucks and the Car Workers.
The side host their home games at KAMAZ stadium that can sit up to 10 000 supporters.
