AO Kerkyra is professional football side located in Kerkyra, Greece. The club was established in 1967, following the merge of 3 local clubs. The kit colours are maroon and blue, which resemble the colours of Corfu and its emblem. The home of the club is Kerkyra Stadium, which has a capacity of 2,685 seats.
A.O. Kerkyra competed in lower leagues for 36 years, before the team won a ticket to Alpha Ethniki in 2004. In 1999 the club hired Spyros Kalogiannis, who managed to promote the side to the first division. Despite huge efforts, the club finished in the bottom of the league table and was relegated. Following the successful 2005/2006 Beta Ethniki campaign, Kerkyra won a promotion to the first division for the second time, being later relegated once again. The team came back for the 2010/2011 Superleague Greece campaign and managed to reach the 12th position. After the season 2012/2013 they moved down to Football League but returned after one season.
Historically, A.O. Kerkyra holds a long-standing rivalry with Olympos Kerkiras, although the two teams currently compete in different divisions.
