K.V. Kortrijk (the full name Koninklijke Voetbalclub Kortrijk) is a Belgian football team.The history of the club stems from the team SC Courtraisien that was created in 1901. In 1951 it was renamed to Koninklijke Kortrijk Sport and later merged with Stade Kortrijk and received its current name.
The team appeared in the top league for the first time in the season 1906/1907, yet it was the 1970s and 1990s that the side played in the top flight regularly.
During the 2000s the team played in the second division, but in the season 2007/2008 Kortrijk earned a ticket to the first division. Four years later the club progressed to the final of the Belgian Cup, yet lost 1-0 to Lokeren there. The highest result of the team in the Jupiler league was the 4th place in the season 2009/2010.
The official colors of the club are white and red. The home ground is Guldensporenstadion that named after the Battle of the Golden Spurs that took place near the city of Kortrijk in 1302.
