Kryvbas was a football team from the city Kryvyi Rih, Ukraine. The club was formed in 1959 under the title FC Kryvyi Rih and the following year it became a part of the sport society Avanhard. The current name was received in 1966. The team mainly played in the lower leagues of the Soviet championship.
Kryvbas started competing in the Ukrainian Premier League in the season 1992/1992. Since that moment on the team has never experienced relegation to the lower divisions. The highest result is the bronze medals of the championship in the season 1999/2000. The same season saw the team climbing to the final of the Ukrainian Cup, where they were defeated by Dynamo Kyiv 1-0.
Kryvbas had close ties with football club Dnipro and regularly exchanged players with that side. Metalurh was the home stadium of the team that has a capacity of 29,734.
At the end of the season 2012/2013 Kryvbas declared bankrupcy despite solid results and were expelled from the Championship.
