Los Angeles Galaxy is a football club from Los Angeles, California, founded in 1995. It is one of the ten clubs that established the Major Soccer League in 1996 and one of the strongest ones, since it has won more silverware than any other club except for D.C. United.
The main club’s achievements: MLS Cup in 2002, 2005 and 2011, U.S. Open Cup in 2001 and 2005, CONCANAF Champions’ Cup in 2000.
The Home Depot Center with the capacity of 27,000 is the team’s home arena. The stadium saw the crowd of around 35,000 spectators during the match between Galaxy and Chelsea when David Beckham was introduced as a new signing from Real Madrid in 2007. The English star has had a five and a half year spell with the club, bringing new class and much attention to American soccer and Los Angeles Galaxy in particular.
Legendary American forward Landon Donovan is a captain of the team and Bruce Arena is the head coach.
