Metalurh is a football team from the city of Zaporizhya. The club was founded in 1935 by the steel factory Zaporizhstal. Metalurh quickly became the most important in the region, though for several decades they mostly competed in minor leagues. The team made a debut in the Soviet Cup in 1950 and appeared in the Soviet Top Flight in the 1970s. The highest finish of the team is the 4th place.
The club was one of the founders of the Ukrainian Premier League, where they once climbed at the 5th place. The team also reached the final of the Ukrainian Cup, where they were defeated by Dynamo Kyiv.
The home stadium is Slavutych Arena that sits up to 11,983 fans. The nicknames of the team are Kozaky (Cossacks), Metall (Metal) and Yuristy (Jurists).
The owner of the club is Alexander Boguslayev.
