FC Minsk is a football club in Belarus, located in the capital. The club was founded in 2006. The team was formed on the base of the football club Smena Minsk, which was established in 1954. After the dissolution of the USSR, in 1992 Smena won the third division. In 2004 they won the second division and in 2006 a new team was formed on the base of Smena, FC Minsk.
Smena was the Belarusian First League team and a newly established Minsk began to compete in the First League. Among their achievements are the semifinals of the Belarusian Cup in 2007 and the second place in 2012, in 20101 they won bronze medals in the domestic league, which allowed them to qualify for the UEFA Europa League. In the first round FC Minsk overcame AZAL Baku and in the second qualifying round they were eliminated by Gaziantepspor.
