Nkana is a football club in Zambia, located in Kitwe. The club was established in 1935 in the township of Wusakili, Kitwe, and initially the team had a name Rhokana United FC and in 1990 they were renamed into Nkana Red Devils.
Nkana is the holder of eleven Zambian Premier League titles (1982, 1983, 1985, 1986, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1992, 1993, 1999, and 2001). They won six Zambian Cup tournaments and seven Zambian Challenge Cup titles.
In African continent their best result was in 1990, when they were runners-up at the African Cup of Champions Clubs, and all in all they participated in 9 African Cup of Champions from 1983 till 1993 hardly missing a year, and their second place in 1990 is the best result for a Zambian team. They also competed in two CAF Champions Leagues (2000 and 2002), two CAF Cup Winners’ Cup tournaments (1998 and 2001) and once they featured in the CAF Cup in 1999.
Nkana’s home ground is Nkana Stadium, previously known as Scriveners Stadium, in Kitwe. Its capacity is 10,000.
