History and achievements
Nottingham Forest is a football club that was established in 1865. The team was one of the founding members of the Football Alliance in 1889 and started playing in the Football League in 1892.
The first achievement of the team was the FA Cup in 1898, when the team defeated Derby County 3–1.
The club spent most of the first half of the 20th century in the Second division. The glorious spell started in the 1970s when under the helm of Brian Clough the side claimed their first and only title of the league. In the season 1978/1970 the team clinched the European Cup, defeating Malmö 1–0 in the final. The following season Forrest retained the title.
The 1980s saw the club winning the League Cup. In the 1990s the team’s fortunes changed and Nottingham was floating up and down division 2 and 3.
The nicknames of the team are the Forest, the Reds and the Tricky Trees.The club’s home ground is West Bridgford with a capacity of 30,602.
