Omiya Ardija is a Japanese club playing in J. League Division 1. It is located in Ōmiya-ku in Saitama, Japan, and was founded in 1964 as NTT Saitama football club. In 1969 it was named NTT Kantō. They got promotion to the Second Division of the Japan Soccer League in 1987.
Before 2004 the club was in the J2 and when the finished runner-up, they joined the top division where they play since then.
‘Ardija’ in the club’s name means squirrel, which is the symbol of Ōmiya and the park where the home stadium is located.
Their home ground is Nack5 Stadium Ōmiya. Its capacity was expanded in 2007 and now it has 15,500 seats. The team’s away kit is white and a home one consists of orange jersey and socks and blue shorts.
