Club Deportivo Palestino is a Chilean club from Santiago founded in 1920 by the group of Palestinian residents in Chile.
At their early years the club competed in Chilean amateur leagues. They made their professional debut as a second-division side in 1952. Palestimo got off to a flying start as they won the 1952 Primera B and were promoted to the Primera División. The club impressed finishing as runners-up in their first season in the top flight. They claimed their first league title in 1955.
The 1970s saw the glorious period for the team. They recorded two Chilean Cups in 1975 and 1977 and made their second league success in 1978. Moreover, in 1976 the club made their first international run in the Copa Libertadores and participated in the tournament again in 1978 and 1979. The farthest they reached in the South American championship was the semi-final in the 1979 edition.
Palestino play their home matches at Estadio Municipal de La Cisterna with the capacity of about 12,000 seats.
