Panthrakikos is a Greek football side based in Komotini. The side was established in 1963, when two local teams merged into one. The home ground of the club is Komotini Municipal Stadium with a capacity of 6,198 seats.
Panthrakikos played in regional leagues, before the side joined the Beta Ethniki in 1969. Panthrakikos competed mainly in the second division until 1983, later being relegated to lower leagues.
In 2003 the club won a promotion to the Delta Ethniki. Thanks to financial investment into the club, Panthrakikos won the fourth division and joined the Gamma Ethniki in 2005. After reaching the third place in the 2005/2006 season, the team progressed to the Beta Ethniki. The next season Panthrakikos also finished third, thus gaining a promotion to the Superleague Greece for the first time in its history.
In 2009 Panthrakikos reached the 11th position in its debut season in the first division. The 2009/2010 season was a total disappointment for Panthrakikos, as it finished in the last place and thus was relegated. The club made its comeback to the Superleague Greece, after winning the second division in the 2011/2012 season.
