Paraná Clube is a Brazilian football club from Curitiba founded in 1989.
The club claimed their first silverware in 1991 as they won the Campeonato Paranaense title. Overall, they collected 7 state titles in between 1991 and 2006. The team’s first run into the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A dates back to the 1993 season after they topped the second division in 1992. However, the farthest Paraná reached in the top flight was the 5th place in the 2006 season. The achievement earned them their first ever spot in the 2007 Copa Libertadores.
Paraná is one of the few Brazilian clubs called Tricolor da Vila, Tricolored of Vila in English, as their kits compose three colors – red, blue and white. The team play their home matches at Estádio Vila Capanema which can host up to 20,000 people. They also have another stadium – Estádio Vila Olímpica – but use it only for training.
