PAS Giannina is a Greek football side located in Ioannina. In 1966 the club was formed, when two local teams merged. After the 2010/2011 season in the Football League, the club won promotion and now competes in the Superleague Greece.
The home ground of the club is Zosimades Stadium that has a capacity of 7,534 seats. In the 70s the outfit was often nicknamed as Ajax of Epirus, due to their brilliant playing style that resembled the Dutch club.
PAS Giannina reached the Greek Cup semifinals twice, each time playing against Olympiacos. On 31 January 2007 PAS became the first lower division side to dump Olympiacos out of the Greek Cup, after Evangelos Kontogoulidis had scored an extra-time goal. PAS has played 15 seasons in the first division, twice reaching the 5th place during their most successful 1975-1978 spell and finishing in the 6th position in the 1979/1980 season. In recent years the most notable footballer who played for PAS was Giourkas Seitaridis, who later helped Greece to win Euro 2004.
