Qatar SC is a Qatari football club founded in Doha in 1959.
The club was initially called Al Nasour. In 1972, it fused with Al Oruba and got a new name Al Esteqlal. In the 1970s, Al Esteqlal established themselves as the strongest team in Qatar. They won the Qatar Stars League in its inaugural 1972/73 season. The team went on their success winning the top-flight league in 1971, 1973 and 1977, and collecting two Emir of Qatar Cups in 1974 and 1976. In 1982, the club got their current name Qatar SC. In the 1980s and 1990s, they only succeeded in winning four Qatar Sheikh Jassem Cups. The 2000s, brought the club three Qatar Crown Prince Cups and one more Qatar Stars League title. They also featured in the AFC Champions League group stage in the 2003/04 season.
Qatar SC play their home matches at Suhaim Bin Hamad Stadium in Doha that can hold up to 15,000 spectators.
