History and achievements
Queens Park Rangers or QPR is a football club that represents London in Premier League. The team was established in 1882 and seven years later received a professional status. QPR is known as the club that changed more than 20 home grounds before settling at Loftus Road stadium in 1917. The biggest win of the club is 9-2 victory against Tranmere Rovers in the season 1960/1961. The traditional colors are blue and white and the major rivalries of the club are Chelsea, Fulham and Brentford.
The highest achievement of QPR is the victory in the League Cup in 1967 where they defeated West Bromwich 3-2. Although QPR at that time were competing in Division Three in the match the team managed to show their skill and character and came back from a deficit in two goals. The following year Rangers started playing in the top division but was sent back to Division One in 1969.
During the 1970s the club reached semi-finals of the League Cup and UEFA Cup, but was relegated from Division One and did not to return to the top flight until 1983. In the course of the following seven years QPR stayed in the mid table and for once managed to finish 5th in the season 1987/1988.
The club was classed down at the end of the season 1995/1996, later dropping to Division Three in 2001. It was not until 2011 that QPR came back to the top tier of the English football.
However, the club was struggling in the top flight and at the end of 2012/2013 season got relegated to the Championship despite significant investment and squad strengthening. The appointement of Harry Redknapp as a manager could not stop the club from falling down. Still, it only tooka one season for the Rangers to get back to the top flight.
