FK Rad Beograd is a Serbian club from Belgrade. The club’s home ground is King Petar I Stadium with 6,000 seats. Their home colours are blue and white.
FK Rad was established in 1958 by the workers of the GRO Rad company and started to perform in one of the lowest national divisions. The board gave the footballers a field, locker rooms and a restaurant in Banjica, and the club started its way to the top. ‘The Builders’ soon progressed to the top tiers of the national competition and clinched a place in the Yugoslav First League.
In the 1988/1989 season, Rad took fourth place in the top division and left several rich clubs like Partizan behind. That achievement helped the team to qualify for the 1989/1990 UEFA Cup, but ‘The Builders’ failed to progress from the first round after a loss to Olympiacos Piraeus. In 2011, Rad repeated their success and finished at the fourth line in the Serbian SuperLiga, but this time they managed to proceed to the second qualifying round due to a victory over Tre Penne.
