Real Salt Lake is a football club from Salt Lake City, USA, founded in 2004.
Since 2005 the team is playing in Major League Soccer. Initially Real was an outsider and managed to reach play-offs first time only in 2008. The team was named in the honor of Real Madrid. Real Salt Lake is often nicknamed as Claret and Cobalt. Its official colors are red-blue and white-blue.
John Ellinger had been the head coach since 2005 to 2007 and then delegated authority to Jason Kreis. SCP Worldwide is the team’s owner.
Rio Tanto Stadium with the capacity of 20,008 is the Salt Lake’s home arena.
In 2009 Real Salt Lake managed to clinch MLS Cup title.
