San Luis Fútbol Club (or San Luis Potosí) was a football club in Mexico, located in San Luis Potosí. It was established in 1957 was the second division team-member. Their first match was a friendly against the Petroleros de Ciudad Madero and the league debut was against beating Club de Fútbol Laguna, whom they won 2-1. At the end of 1950s the franchise was sold and the team completed a move to Tamaulipas. In 1966 the team returned to San Luis Potosí but began to play in the third division, making their debut at that level in July 1967. In 1970 the team promoted to the Second Division and in 1970/71 they won Segunda División de México thus getting promotion to the top flight. Then they relegated but in 1975/76 they won Segunda División de México. The following decades he Club had difficult times because many owners changed and the team faced financial difficulties.
Gradually the situation changed and the team won the Primera División A Invierno in 2001. In 2005 the club, which was named San Luis by that time, reached the top flight. The first international tournament San Luis competed in was Copa Sudamericana 2008. In 2009 the team qualified for the Copa Libertaores but failed to compete due to H1N1 virus problem.
In 2013 the club moved to the state of Chiapas and merged with Jaguares de Chiapas. Ever since the club has been known as Chiapas FC.
They play their home matches at Estadio Alfonso Lastras. The stadium has a capacity for 28,000 spectators.
