In the 1950s Shamrock Rovers won 3 league titles and 2 FAI Cups. Shamrock Rovers was the first Irish club to participate in a European competition, making its debut in the European Cup in 1957.
After a 16-year wait, Shamrock Rovers finally managed to win the 2010 Premier Division on goal difference. The team also reached the FAI Cup final, where they were defeated by Sligo Rovers on penalties.
