Shelbourne is an Irish football club based in Dublin, Ireland. Its home stadium is Tolka Park, which has a capacity of 6,000 seats. The traditional club colors are red and white. Shelbourne shares a rivalry with Bohemians. The club was established in 1895, later becoming one of the founding members of the League of Ireland in 1921.
Shelbourne entitled the League of Ireland 13 times. The club won 8 League of Ireland Shields, 7 FAI Cups, 3 IFA Cups and other trophies. In the 1999/2000 season Shelbourne won the double for the first time in the history of the club, thanks to the victory in the FAI Cup final match against Bohemians and the first-place finish in the Premier Division. In the 2004/2005 season Shelbourne became the first Irish side to reach the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League.
In 2006 Shelbourne won the league title and reached the Intertoto Cup semi-finals. It also progressed to the League of Ireland Cup final for the first time since 1998, but lost on penalties. However, Shelbourne faced relegation to the First Division, when the manager and the majority of players left the club due to ongoing financial difficulties. From 2007 to 2011 the club struggled for a promotion to the highest league and eventually came back to the Premier Division for the 2012 season. In 2013 Shelbourne got relegated back to First Division.
