History and achievements
PFC Slavia Sofia is a football club in Bulgaria, located in the capital. The sports club was founded in 1913 and was named Slavia. The team won their first Bulgarian champion title in 1928. The following success came in 1930 and since then they were crowned with the league title in 1936, 1939, 1941 and 1943.
In 1952, 1963, 1964, 1966, 1975, 1980, and 1996 the team was the Bulgarian Cup holder. Their best European result was the 1966/67 Cup Winners’ Cup when they reached the semifinals, being eliminated by Rangers.
Since 1994 certain improvement was made, in 1995 Slavia was fourth in the table. In 1995/96 the team won A Group and the Bulgarian Cup.
Slavia play their home matches at Slavia Stadium with a capacity of 15,992.
