FK Smederevo is a Serbian club based in Smederevo. The club’s home ground is Smederevo City Stadium with 17,200 seats. Their home colour is blue.
The club was founded on 6 May 1924 as FK Sartid, the football team of the iron factory. They performed in the league of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia and consisted mainly of third tier foreign players. In 1944, the club was reestablished under the name FK Metalac, but changed its name several times during the following years.
The team played in the lowest division until 1992, when it was reborn as FK Sartid and drew the financial support of the iron concern. In the 1998/1999 season, the club gained the promotion to the main league and lifted the Serbia and Montenegro Cup in 2003 after beating Red Star Belgrade in the finals. In the summer 2004, the team changed their name back to Smederevo.
