Club Atlético Tigre is an Argentinean professional football club based in Victoria, Buenos Aires. It currently competes in the Primera División.
Formed on August 3, 1902 Tigre`s first professional game came against San Lorenzo de Almagro on May 31, 1931. The very first win arrived in the 3rd fixture when the club beat Racing. The 1933/1934 season was marred by the team`s poor performance and a disappointing bottom-place finish was all that Tigre could muster. Consequently, the club fell into the second division. The following season saw Tigre earn promotion to the top tier.
In 1980 the club dropped down a division again. In 1991 things went from bad to worse as Tigre was relegated to the third division. In the year of 2006 Diego Cagna took over as a manager of the club. Under his guidance Tigre went on a fantastic run of 13 consecutive games unbeaten. Ultimately the team ensured promotion to the Primera División.
In 2008 Tigre made its best campaign ever as the club finished the championship as runners-up. A year later the side debuted in the Copa Sudamericana.
