Ulisses FC is an Armenian football team from Yerevan founded in 2000. Upon the foundation, the team got the name Dinamo-2000. In 2004, they were renamed Dinamo-Zenith due to sponsorship reasons. In 2006, the club got their current name.
It’s a tidbit that Ulisses embarked on their way upward the footballing ladder from the Armenian Premier League, omitting the lower stages of Armenian football league system. However, they experienced a difficult start finishing in the lower half of the table during the eight years. In 2009, their downturn changed to a rise. Ulisses finished third in two consecutive Premier League seasons and in 2011 they claimed their first league title. Their glorious win put an end to Pyunik’s unbeaten run of ten consecutive seasons. The league success earned Ulisses a spot in the UEFA Europa league, and in the 2012/13 season, they got a ticket to the second qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League.
The team play their home matches at Republican Stadium in Yerevan which can hold up to 14,968 people.
