History and achievements
Watford is a professional football club that was established in 1881.The side spent most of its life in the lower leagues of English football pyramid. The most glorious spell started in the 1980s when Graham Taylor was appointed the manager of the team. The club reached the top flight and even finished second in the season 1982/1983. The following season the side played in the UEFA Cup and progressed to the final of the FA Cup. The rise changed to the downturn and Watford floated between third and second divisions from 1987 to 1997. The last run in the Premier League was during the season 2006/2007 under the helm of Aidy Boothroyd.
The major rival is Luton Town. The chairman of the club is Raffaele Riva.
The nicknames of the team are the Golden Boys, the Hornets and the Yellow Army. The home arena of the team is Vicarage Road that can hold up to 17,477.
