History and achievements
Xerez is a Spanish football side from Jerez de la Frontera. The club was established in 1947.
Football traditions in the region of Province of Cádiz stem from Sir Thomas Spencer who worked in a winery and established Sociedad Jerez FootBall Club. The first time the side won promotion to the second division was in the season 1953/1954, a decade later the outfit adopted its current name.
In 2009 Xerez appeared in the top flight, yet they stayed in La Liga only for a season.Overall Xerez played in the second league for 25 seasons, 17 seasons the side spent in Segunda División (B) and 21 seasons in the third league.
The most famous nicknames of the team are Xerecistas and the Blues.
The team holds its home games at the Estadio Municipal de Chapín that can hold up to 22,000 football fans. The kit colors are blue and white.
