A Turkish football manager, Abdullah Avcı was born in 1993.
During his playing career Avcı played for Vefa, Karagümrük, Çaykur Rizespor, Kahramanmaraşspor, Bakırköyspor, Kasımpaşa, İstanbulspor, Küçükçekmecespor and finished his career in the first club he played for.
His managerial career started in Istanbulspor in 2002, in 2004 Avcı moved to Galatasaray. The next season he spent with Turkey U17 national football team. Under his guidance the team won the 2005 UEFA European Under-17 Football Championship and finished 4th at the FIFA Youth-World championship in Peru. There he fostered such eminent football players as Nuri Şahin, Deniz Yilmaz, and Tevfik Köse.
In 2006 he moved to İstanbul BB and led it to the Süper Lig.
In November 2011 Avcı replaced Guus Hiddink and headed the Turkey national football team.
However, the team did not show solid results and Avci was released in the summer 2013.
