Adnan Hamad is a former Iraqi football player. His playing career started at the age of 14 in the football club Samarra. After spending 7 seasons in the team, Hamad was signed by Salah Al-Deen. He spent one season in the club and claimed Iraq Super League cup. From 1984 to 1988 Hamad played for Al-Zawraa.His playing career also included such clubs as Al-Talaba, Al-Tayaran and Al-Zawraa. He also made 17 appearances in the national team of Iraq and scored 6 goals.
Hamad entered into coaching in 1992 when he became the playing coach of Samarra. In 1996 Al-Zawraa selected Hamad to the position of head coach.
After spending some time in Europe where he studied coaching, Hamad moved to Dubai to head Dubai SC. In 2000 he was appointed as Iraq national team manager, yet was replaced by Milan Zivadinovic few months before the 2000 Asian Cup. From 2002 to 2008 the coach trained the Iraqi national team (in 2002 and in 2008), Iraq Olympic team and football clubs Al-Ansar and Al-Faisaly.
In 2009 Hamad was appointed as the manager of the national team of Jordan and guided the team for four years.
