Alakbar Mammadov is an Azerbaijani retired striker and coach born on 9 May 1930 in Baku.
Alakbar got off to a flying start of his professional career with Neftyanik Baku in 1948. He shortly proved his worth in the starting lineup and scored a total of 47 goals in 132 league matches for the club during a five-year stint. In 1954, Mammadov moved to Dynamo Moscow where he enjoyed the best time of his career. He brought the glory to the team as he scored the winning 87th minute goal in the Soviet Top League final snapping up the title for his side. In 1960, Mammadov returned to Neftyanik Baku where he played for two years before his retirement in 1962. He then served as a coach of his feeder club and retired from football in 1994.
