Aleksandr Alfyorov is a former footballer. He was born in 1962 and began his professional career at Iskra Smolensk. Then he played for Selenga Ulan-Ude, Sakhalin Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Zvezda-Yunis-Sib Irkutsk. In 1994 he went to China and played for Shenyang Liuyao. In 1995 he returned to Selenga Ulan-Ude but soon re-joined the Chinese football club which was renamed to Shenyang Huayang. He had a spell at Shenyang Haishi, then returned to Selenga Ulan-Ude. Between 1998 and 2001 he played for Metallurg Krasnoyarsk.
After retirement Alfyorov went in for coaching and was either an assistant coach or a caretaker of Metallurg Krasnoyarsk between 2001 and 2009. In 2010 he was appointed the head coach.
