Alex Dupont was born on June 30, 1954 in Dunkirk. He used to be a player and continued his football career as a coach.
As a manager, Dupont became famous due to his work in two clubs – Dunkerque and Hazebrouck. Later, he took charge of Gueugnon and played in the league cup. Afterwards, he helped Sedan to play in the UEFA Cup and later saved Laval from relegation having finished in the lucky seventeenth place.
Later, he worked in Amiens where he spent two seasons and lost more than half of matches. In 2009, Dupont took charge in Brest. There he was eventually awarded Best Coach of the second division in 2010 and had an excellent beginning in the first division. But on April 26, 2012 Alex left the club as it had no good results and lost its last five matches. Under his charge the club finished sixteenth and eighteenth in the first division. When he led Brest, there were 17 victories in two seasons while losses were twice as frequent. That was why he was soon replaced by Landry Chauvin.
Nevertheless, the coach did not remain unemployed for long and already on June 22, 2012 he got an offer from AC Ajaccio. Alex did not reject it and substituted Olivier Pantaloni. After half a season he was released from the position.
In 2013 he took over at Stade Brestois.
